AUSTRALIAN WATCH PRICE GUIDEObserved asking prices. Sources linked.
The collection rules

A price needs
a source.

The first collection was checked on 26 October 2026. It contains 27 observations across 16 references and 13 models. Three unavailable listings were excluded. Two references meet the publication threshold. This is an initial sample; it does not cover the whole Australian market.

Collect public Australian asking prices

We checked selected dealer pages and recorded their URL, seller, listing identity, exact reference, asking price in AUD, listed year, set, reported condition, availability and collection date. Search results helped find pages; their snippets were not used as price observations. No listing photographs or descriptions are reproduced.

Check the sources

The first batch uses factual observations from Zaeger, Dixon Watch Co, The Time Broker and HYPA. These links lead to the terms checked on 26 October 2026. We found no express restriction on recording these individual facts in those terms. This does not establish permission to reproduce their content or run a recurring crawler.

Chrono24, eBay and Watch Kingdom were excluded because their terms restrict the proposed collection or reuse. Retail is shown only when a manufacturer Australian price has been checked and linked.

Keep references and listings separate

Each summary describes one exact reference. Repeated observations are grouped by seller and listing ID, by seller and normalised URL, or by a known shared watch identity. The latest observation wins. A later unavailable observation retires an earlier available one. Conflicting same-day records fail the build. Two distinct watches with the same asking price remain separate.

Seller stock codes distinguish listings where possible. We cannot rule out undisclosed relistings or shared stock without a matching identity. Unknown set details remain unknown. They are never treated as watch only. Listed years can refer to manufacture or original sale, depending on the seller.

Require a current sample

A published reference needs at least five eligible listings from at least two sellers, collected no more than 45 calendar days ago. The same rule applies after filtering by set or year. Sold, reserved, withdrawn and unknown availability records are excluded. Model pages recheck age when requested, using the Sydney date, and hide a summary when it falls below the threshold.

Explain the calculation

We sort eligible asking prices and calculate the median and central 80% range, from the 10th to the 90th percentile. Percentiles use linear interpolation, known as Hyndman-Fan type 7: position = (number of listings - 1) multiplied by the percentile, counting from zero. Values between two positions are interpolated and rounded to Australian cents. Range endpoints may differ from individual asking prices.

The summary combines eligible years, sets and reported conditions within a reference. Dial and bracelet variants can also differ. Prices are not adjusted for those differences. Dealer sold-price data, if supplied later, will be a separate series.

Make uncertainty visible

A small, stale or absent sample has no published median or range. An asking-price guide cannot confirm a sale price, a dealer offer or an insurance valuation. Availability can change after collection. The source links on each qualifying model page identify the observations behind its figures.

Refresh and history

The site contains one manually checked collection. There is no automatic collection or monthly comparison yet. A monthly refresh is planned; a price history needs at least two qualifying collection periods.

First collection: 26 October 2026. Public Australian dealer asking prices, recorded by Foundlab. Figures appear only where the current reference sample meets the minimum. See the collection method for sources and exclusions.
